A Dog Named Blu: The Inspiration Behind Natural Dog Food CT

Our First Rescue Dog Becomes Our Inspiration for Natural Dog Food CT

It began in 2006 when Alan and I decided to adopt a dog named Blu.  Like a ripple in the water, Blu’s impact on our lives keeps expanding. We were first inspired to do more for rescue dogs by conducting inspections on behalf of Labs4rescue. We became a foster family and the ripple expanded.

Milly was our first foster and it was love at first sight, we adopted her within the week. It was during this time that the idea for Natural Dog Food Ct.com started to take shape. Al and I discussed different things we could do but we weren’t sure what direction we wanted to go.

Next we fostered Peach, an older gal, making her part of our family while she searched for hers.  Two families turned her down, one pronouncing her too old, the other declaring her too large for apartment living. As we continued to search for her permanent home Peach was telling us “you are my forever home!” and couldn’t understand why it took us so long to hear her.  After three weeks she became our third rescue dog.  The ripple expanded once more when we became determined to start a business based on our love of dogs. Natural Dog Food Ct.com was born! With it came a whisper of an idea.

What if we could meld our passions with our livelihood while making a positive impact on the lives of others? What if our bottom line was about how much we could give back to community and not just about how much we could make?

A woke up one morning and decided to form a new corporation based on giving back. 4winds of Change, LLC is committed to making a difference. We have designed several online businesses where you can make a difference as well.  The concept is simple. We offer a variety of products, both digital and tangible, at competitive prices and donate 10% of our net profits to animal charities, dog rescue groups and other charitable organizations. Each purchase you make will have a positive impact on others.  And who knows maybe you will decide to adopt a dog too!

Update: We Did it Again!

I met a wonderful pup several months back when my Chiropractor decided to buy a Golden Retriever for his family. Andy came to the office with him every day but had to stay in his crate all the time not to disrupt the clients. Five months later Andy was still being cooped up all day and wasn’t very happy that he couldn’t join the family at their various sporting events so Doc admitted that getting Andy wasn’t a well thought out ‘purchase’.

I was so angry at Doc for ‘throwing away’ Andy that I was practically hysterical. I knew it was best for Andy because what pup wants to be in a crate 16 hours a day? It took me about a second to also realize that I was so upset because I already loved him. After a quick stop at the site where my husband was building a house (he’s in construction) the decision was made -Andy wasn’t going anywhere except home with us!
